  • Macbeth Gallery scrapbook
    Macbeth Gallery scrapbook, 1910-1915

    Macbeth Gallery Scrapbooks, 1892-1952

Scrapbooks were digitized from Archives of American Art microfilm (reel numbers NMC1-NMC4) rather than the originals due to their extremely fragile condition. The legibility of the scans is generally poor due to the microfilm quality; researchers may wish to request the microfilm through Interlibrary Loan.

The remainder of the Macbeth Gallery records are available at the Archives of American Art and will be digitized in 2010.

Macbeth Gallery scrapbooks date from 1892-1952 and provide comprehensive coverage of the gallery's history and day-to-day events at the gallery. Documented is the important 1908 exhibition of "The Eight" and the gallery's fortieth, fiftieth and sixtieth anniversaries, and news of the art world in general. The scrapbooks contain exhibition catalogs, news clippings, and some photographs. The scrapbooks form a part of the larger Macbeth Gallery records. Read more About this Collection.

Funding for the digitization of this collection was provided by the Terra Foundation for American Art.
