Description: Mail art sent from Richard Canard using return address as 409 S. Emerald Street, Carbondale, Illusion (Illinois), to Mister John Evans, New York, N.Y. postmarked September 22, 2008.
Mail art is constructed of cut out from cereal carton. On verso, an image of a duck, drawn and painted, with the inscription (handwritten): L.H.O.O.Q.U.A.C.K.; The origins of all that "canard" business can be found in the Ursuline Ducks Archives of the Mail Artist John Evans; 18.09.08.
The images and text reference L.H.O.O.Q by Marcel Duchamp, as well as Richard Canard's name- Canard is the French word for duck.
