Typewritten label accompanies photograph: [A]rtsit [sic] and project initiator Michele Zackheim stands in front of the Judaic wall of her working collages for THE TENT OF MEETING. There are also Christian and Islamic walls of THE TENT, a 1,000 sq. ft. installation which actually is a canvas tent onto which will be xeroxed these images once they have been enlarged to 2.47 times their present size. The images will be hand-painted in acrylic wash. Each tradition is depicted on its own 40' x 12' wall, with the resultant environment completed by audio playback of a vocal symphony composed by David Hykes and performed by the Harmonic Choir. THE TENT brings these three great traditions under one roof in an effort to encourage the viewer to experience their shared history and respect their divergences. Literary components are an iconographic guide edited by Anna Walton and an anthology of essays edited by John Menken.
