Biographical/Historical Note: Genre painter; New York City and Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania. Born in Dunmanway, Ireland. He came to New York City in 1863. Elected a member of the National Academy in 1882. Exhibited at the Columbian Exposition, Chicago, 1893.
