    Description: Violet Oakley mural, The Child and Tradition, installed in Yarnall House hall, Haverford College, 1910-1911. Charlton Yarnell commissioned Violet Oakley to produce paintings and stained glass for his house in 1910. The Violet Oakley murals and stained glass were eventually removed and placed in the Woodmere Art gallery. Yarnell house was turned into a dormitory for Haverford College. The mural The Child and Tradition is part The Building of the house of Wisdom series which included four murals beneath a stained glass dome.
