    Identification on accompanying label (typewritten): Dina Melicov's fountain figure symbolizes womanhood. She is one of the many women sculptors whose work is scheduled for placement in the tax-supported public buildings through the WPA Federal Art Project. She studied at City College of New York, and received a scholarship to the Sorbonne in Paris. Fourteen carved panels of the Stations were executed by her for the private chapel of the Bishop of Rhode Island.
