Biographical/Historical Note: Painter, etcher, sculptor; Boston, Mass. Thal was a follower of Maroger's medium, which is a painting technique based on that of the Old Masters and "rediscovered" by Parisian artist Jacques Maroger. It involves the use of a special resin and oil emulsion in colloidal solution with pigment.
Lent 1982 by Anna Thal, Thal's daughter.
