Collection Summary: 52 letters from Reid to his sister, Sara, written during his travels in Italy and France, January to October, 1887; 3 family scrapbooks containing photographs, clippings, wedding invitations, etc; "Random Recollections," a family history written by Reid's brother; 9 miscellaneous items including clippings; and 35 photographs and reproductions of Reid, his work, and miscellaneous subjects.

Donated 1973 by Joseph Bowdring, who purchased the papers along with Reid's paintings.
