Collection Summary: Potter workshops and lectures, 1978- 1981, given by Ralph Bacerra, Doug Baldwin, Cynthia Bringle, Michael Cardew, Tom Coleman, Val Cushing, Ruth Duckworth, Ken Ferguson, Steve Howell, Susan and Steven Kemenyffy, Marilyn Levine, David Leach, Warren McKenzie, Jane Peiser, Don Pilcher, Juan Quesada, Elsa Rady, Adrian Saxe, Toshiko Takaezu, Byron Temple, Patti Warashina, Gerry Williams, and Makoto Yabe. The workshops were part of the "Making It In Clay" series held at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland between 1978 and 1981. Richard Mower, a potter and professor in the art department at Montgomery College, directed the workshops and videotaped them in cooperation with Montgomery Potters, the Washington Kiln Club, and the Montgomery College ceramics program. Each workshop and lecture is approximately 1 hour each in length. Also included are four posters for the "Making It in Clay" series. Series 1-3 were held at Montgomery College 1978-1981 and series 4 were held at the Corcoran School of Art, 1981-1982. There are no videos of the workshops in series 4.
