Collection Summary: Letters, writings, financial material, photographs and printed material relating to art collector and filmmaker Raymond Saroff.
Professional letters to Saroff regard loans of works of art for exhibitions. Writings include a catalog essay by Saroff's partner, curator and collector Howard Rose, for the folk art exhibition about the Saroff and Rose folk art collection at Bard College, 1991. Financial records include auction house statements and sales receipts, a significant portion of which concern the sale of Bruce Conner's work. Photographs and slides are of works of art. Printed material includes rare, early catalogs about prominent contemporary artists, and rare serials, including Mother, and Filmmaker's Cooperative, and exhibition announcements, posters, and clippings.
