Collection Summary: Biographical material, correspondence, writings, interview transcripts, photographs, inventory and sales records, and printed material regarding Ralph Goings career as a Photorealist painter.

Biographical material includes curriculum vitae and resumes. Correspondence includes letters between Goings and other Photorealist painters, including Richard McLean, Glennray Tutor, Davis Cone, and Daniel Tennant, as well as business correspondence with OK Harris Works of Art, and dealer Ivan Karp, among others.

Writings by Goings include notes, a work progress notebook and a statement about Jack Hobbs. Interview transcripts were made from a panel discussion Goings had with art historian Linda Chase and other Photorealist painters. Photographs consist primarily of snapshots from trips and social gatherings of Photorealist painters and friends and a large accumulation of slides and prints used as preparatory images for finished paintings. Printed material includes magazines, exhibition announcements and catalogs.
