    An interview of George Heard Hamilton conducted by Robert F. Brown for the Archives of American Art. Hamilton speaks of his education and teaching career at Yale, 1936-1966; his directorship of the Clark Art Institute, 1966-1977; and of his research and publlications.

    This interview is part of the Archives of American Art Oral History Program, started in 1958 to document the history of the visual arts in the United States, primarily through interviews with artists, historians, dealers, critics and others.
