Collection Summary: Twenty-two letters from portrait painter Oliver Frazer to his mother Nancy; two letters from Oliver to his brother James, 1823 and 1828; a letter from Frazer to his uncle, Robert Frazer, 1835; a letter from Robert Frazer to Oliver, 1837; and an account concerning Oliver Frazer's funeral and estate, 1865.
Biographical/Historical Note: Oliver Frazer was a portrait painter. Born 1808 in Fayette Cty., Ky. Studied with Thomas Sully in Philadelphia, followed by four years in Europe, 1834-1838.
Microfilm negative was purchased from the Division of Special Collections and Archives, University of Kentucky Libraries, Lexington, Kentucky.
