Collection Summary: A note from Gagarin to Alexander Calder "Sandy - Thanks a lot - Andy" which Calder returned to Gagarin, amended "Andy - Thanks a lot - Sandy." Included is the envelope Calder returned the note in, illustrated with a sketch (badly faded). Also included is a clipping on a Calder exhibition, which pictures a similarly illustrated Calder envelope.

Biographical/Historical Note: Patron and friend of sculptor Alexander Calder.

Donated 1984 by Andrew Gagarin.
