Collection Summary: Three scrapbooks, 1951-1963, containing catalogs, many from the Argent Galleries, announcements, clippings, press releases and photographs relating to activities of the association and its members; records, 1949-1969, of traveling exhibitions including correspondence, 2 photographs, clippings and printed material; and printed material, 1926-1971, including 48 exhibition catalogs, exhibition announcements and price lists.

Biographical/Historical Note: Association for professional women artists founded in 1889. Sponsors of foreign and national traveling shows. Formerly called the Association of Women Painters and Sculptors and the Women's Art Club of the City of New York.

Printed material, 1926-1971, donated by Jane Gray, historian for the NAWA, 1971. Scrapbooks donated by the NAWA, 1981, and the traveling exhibition records donated by NAWA, 1980.
