Biographical/Historical Note: Franz Wildenhain (1905-1980) was a sculptor, painter, ceramic craftsman, and teacher from Rochester, N.Y. Wildenhain was born in Leipzig, Germany and studied at the Bauhaus, with Walter Gropius, Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Josef Albers and others.
Katz was a former student of Wildenhain.
