Collection Summary: The 1871 Constitution, publicity materials (1876-1888), published lists of members, a petition to the State of New York for financial aid, and correspondence (1887-1914). A 1914 letter from a member outlines the history of the Association.
Biographical/Historical Note: Organized 1867 and incorporated in 1877 to promote interests of women artists. Many of its members and officers were Quakers.
