Collection Summary: Correspondence, 1960-1994, with friends and family; exhibition related material, including catalogs and announcements; photographs, ca. 1950s-1995, of Caja, his grandparents, Cleveland State University classes; San Francisco's drag culture, and of art works; original art work, including fragments of ink drawings and nail lacquer paintings; and a video recording.
Biographical/Historical Note: Painter, sculptor; San Francisco, Calif. Caja grew up in Ohio, and studied at the Cuyahoga Community College and Cleveland State University before enrolling at the San Francisco Art Institute, from which he graduated in 1984.
Donated 1994 by Jerome Caja and in 1995 by his estate via Anna van der Meulen, executor. Van der Meulen organized the papers for Caja prior to the donations.
