Family photographs include Lovoos' parents, ca. 1870s; family portraits in Montana, ca. 1910; Lovoos in Los Angeles, ca. 1920s; Chouinard School of Art students, ca. 1920s; and other family shots from the mid-1920s to the 1980s, including her husband, painter Frederic Penney with Millard Sheets and others.
Biographical/Historical Note: Writer, painter, designer; California. Born 1903. Lovoos received formal art training at Chouinard School of Art in Los Angeles where she learned to design rugs, textiles, murals, and illustrate children's books. As a writer and art historian, Lovoos has contributed richly to documenting Southern California art.
