Later letters include correspondence of Dr. J. Montgomery Mosher with Frank Jewett Mather, Frederick Fairchild Sherman and others about Martin's work. Biographical/Historical Note: Martin was a painter, New York. Member of the Hudson River School landscape painters. Mosher and Martin were good friends.

The lender, Courtenay Brandreth, is Mosher's granddaughter.
