Description: Date range based on style of dress worn by women in drawing.
Drawing in pencil and pastels shows four women outside, seated at easels, painting or drawing. They are all looking towards their subject, a woman lying on a footbridge. We see only her feet and the edge of her skirt.
Note found filed with sketch reads: A sketch of artists painting, which follows, was done by Ellen Emmet Rand. Her feet can be seen in the foreground. Julia Shipway, one of the donors, obtained this information from Lydia Emmet. Sketch is done in pencil and graphite Date unknown. Water stains appear at left, top right and bottom.
