Collection Summary: Seven letters from Ivan Albright to Irene McCabe (Cantine), 1942-1944, describing his painting the portrait of Dorian Gray for MGM for use in the film of the same name; clippings, about Ivan and Malvin Albright, undated and 1978-1983.

Biographical/Historical Note: In 1942, at the age of 14, Helen McCabe (Cantine) by chance wandered into Ivan Le Lorraine Albright's studio in Warrenville, Illinois. He sketched her portrait and asked her to pose again for him. In 1943 Albright went to Hollywood to work on the "Portrait of Dorian Gray" for the MGM film of the same title, and continued to correspond with McCabe (Cantine). He died in 1983.

Donated 1986 by Irene Helen McCabe Cantine.
