Collection Summary: Manuscripts; poems by Lake; a diary kept while he was in Rome, 1888-1889; a journal of travels in Europe and Canada, 1924; the typescript of "In an Unfriendly World," his fictional autobiography of a black man; sketches; papers concerning his sculpture in the Memorial Chamber, Houses of Parliament, Ottawa, Canada; photographs of Lake,1887, and of his work, 1908-1919.

Donated by Lake's son Owen and grandson, Brandon McKay.
