Biographical/Historical Note: Tom Van Sant (1931- ) is a painter, sculptor, and muralist living and working in Santa Monica, California. He was educated and taught at Otis College of Art and Design and is the founder of The GeoSphere Project.

This interview is part of the Archives of American Art Oral History Program, started in 1958 to document the history of the visual arts in the United States, primarily through interviews with artists, historians, dealers, critics and administrators.
