Biographical/Historical Note: Martha Longenecker (1920- 2013) was an artist and founder of Mingei International Museum of World Folk Art in La Jolla, California. Jo Lauria (1954- ) is an independent curator and arts writer in Sherman Oaks, California.
This interview is part of the Archives of American Art Oral History Program, started in 1958 to document the history of the visual arts in the United States, primarily through interviews with artists, historians, dealers, critics and administrators.
