Biographical/Historical Note: John W. Rhoden (1918-2001) was a sculptor from Brooklyn, N.Y. Attended Talladege College, Alabama, School of Painting and Sculpture at Columbia Univ., and the American Academy in Rome. Studied under William Zorach.
These interviews are part of the Archives of American Art Oral History Program, started in 1958 to document the history of the visual arts in the United States, primarily through interviews with artists, historians, dealers, critics and others.
