Creator: Thomas B. (Thomas Benedict) Clarke (1848-1931)

Description: Book 8 of the Clarke scrapbooks.
Consists of clippings related to George Inness, including obituaries and remembrances, announcements of the Inness memorial exhibition, and coverage of the Inness 1895 estate auction sale. A catalog of the 1895 auction sale, copies of correspondence between Inness and Clarke, two original photographs of Inness' studio, and additional auction sales lists from 1904 and 1911 are also included.
Paper is brittle, only selected pages have been scanned.
Scanned pages include: the photos of George Inness's studio; a letter from Inness's widow Elizabeth to Thomas B. Clarke dated 1895 Feb. 19; a summary of executor's sale of paintings by George Inness at the Fifth Avenue Art Galleries, 1904; and a letter from Inness to the editor of the New York Herald dated 1889 Mar. 9.
