Mock-up of the design for Jack Heinz's office at H. J. Heinz, ca. 1960
Physical Details: Mock-ups : 1 item : various media ; 20 x 26 cm.
Creator: Florence Knoll Bassett (1917-), artist
Description: Identification on verso (handwritten): This paste up of Jack Heinz's suite was a typical presentation made for plans or in models. It was extraordinary how small swatches of fabrics and wood could convey a feeling of the space. The general scale used was 1/4" but in special plans we worked in larger scale. I always felt the need to employ this system that eventually was used by design offices as a standard. I actually started to do this at the Architectural Association in London and developed it further when the planning unit was formned at Knoll.
