Description: Letter from Samuel Wagstaff, of the Wadsworth Atheneum asking sculptor David Smith to come to Hartford, Conn. to talk about the upcoming project of the new Boston City Hall.
Smith's reply is hand written in the margin: No Sam- I do not like to go places and I've got too much work to do and I have no ovilgation to Hartford. Greetings, David S. It even ended up in costing me money to exhibit with Wadsworth. I cant afford it.
