Biographical/Historical Note: Hilda Belcher (1881-1963) was a painter, illustrator, and educator from Pittsford, Vt. Belcher was a prolific portrait painter in New York, Washington and the deep South.
Donated 1984 by the Belcher family. Journals and photographs of Hilda and her mother, Martha Wood Belcher (one of the first graduates of Cooper Union art school) are expected.
