Collection Summary: Correspondence with Arshile Gorky, Zygmunt [Sigmund] Menkes, Theodore Roszak, Lloyd Raymond Ney, and others; scrapbooks containing clippings and exhibition announcements; photos of works of art; financial records; printed material; and a pen and ink drawing by Anna Walinska.

Biographical/Historical Note: Operated ca. 1935-1939. Gallery founded by Anna Walinska and Margaret Lefranc (Margaret Schoonover). Artists exhibited included Theodore Roszak, Saul Baizerman, Paul Feeley, Jean Liberte, Chaim Gross, Lloyd Raymond Ney, Philip Reisman, and perhaps most significantly, Arshile Gorky, whose first N.Y. one-man show was held there.

Donated 1981 by Margaret Lefranc (also known as Margaret Schoonover), co-founder of the Guild Art Gallery.
