Collection Summary: Photographs, correspondence, and an interview regarding George de Forest Brush and the Brush family.

Photographs include one framed photograph of the Brush family, 1931; one album of the Brush family; one unbound album of the Brush family; various loose photographs of Brush and his family; a photo album of the George de Forest Brush exhibition at the Bristol Art Museum, 1968; a photo album of works by Robert Pearmain, Brush's son-in-law; and images compiled by Joan Morgan for her publication, "George de Forest Brush, 1855-1941: Master of the American Renaissance," 1985. Correspondence is with Robert Pearmain mostly from family and friends and concerns his artwork. Also included in the collection is an interview on cassette with Nancy Douglas Bowditch, Brush's daughter, conducted by Kathleen M. Cogswell, a family friend. Bowditch discusses Shelbyville, Tenn., George de Forest Brush's place of birth.
