Collection Summary: An interview of Frank Gasparro conducted by Linda Shopes. Gasparro speaks of his early life including his studies with Giuseppe Donato; struggling through the Depression carving cemetery monuments; his successful application to the Federal Art Project (FAP) and his experiences while working with it; projects he worked on with the FAP and how they were assigned; how the project functioned; relations with other artists; political problems involving the Pennsylvania state director of the FAP, Mary Curran, and the Artists Union; and his subsequent work for the U.S. Mint.
