Biographical/Historical Note: The Federal Theater Project (FTP) was a program established under the Federal Project No. One of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in 1935. It sought to create employment for actors and others involved in the performing arts during the Depression. Gertrude DonDero was the state director of the Connecticut Federal Theater Project.
