Collection Summary: Letters from French to Charles Dexter Allen, author of several books on bookplates, and to the engraver J. Winfred Spenceley. Most of the letters were written from Saranac Lake, New York, and contain many references to French's own bookplates and to other engravers.

Lent 1974 by the New York Historical Society.
