The Jervis McEntee Diaries - August 28, 1888

Diary Entry:

Tuesday, Aug 28, 1888 Beautiful cool day with N. wind. I felt hopeful and energetic. Went down to Deyo's and got paint and a brush and began to paint the tin roof of the barn & stable and worked all day after 11 oclock. Have used up all the paint I got for the whole of it and have done about one third of it. Last evening I went down to see [Gulrain?] Quilliard whom I met in the Post office yesterday. He has come on from Duluth to take care of Victor who has been very ill but who is better. Gulrain has been in Minneapolis to see it grow from a city of 35000 inhabitants to one of 250000 but has not bettered his fortunes.
