The Jervis McEntee Diaries - February 23, 1888

Diary Entry:

Thursday, Feb 23, 1888 Mary and Calvert each came to see my pictures. While Mary was here Satterlee called and wanted me to come to his studio to see two pictures he has painted to assist him in deciding which one to send to the Academy. As Satterlee knows I am on the hanging committee I wish he would not injure his reputation for delicacy by asking such things. I tried to get out of it but could not easily. Spent the afternoon packing my pictures to send them to Wilmurts next week. Went over to Brooklyn in the evening and called at Mrs. Dan Ingens but she was out. Came back to the club and wrote a letter to Weir.
