Tuesday, Oct 18, 1887 Went down town and had an iron cover made for the stove up stairs to heat the irons on. John McEntee and I went to Kingston to meet Kenyon by appointment but he had gone to Albany, to get rid of the Republican nominating Convention, I think which meets in Kingston today. Sara had a note from Mrs. Hess telling her today is her mother's (Mrs. Sickles) birth day, her 91st and that she would be pleased to see her friends who would call. She and I walked up to see her, but we only saw Mrs. Hess. Her mother was not feeling well and so could see no one. Mrs. Hess looked very pretty and seemed gratified that we called. We came home back of OReillys and met Mrs. Stringham coming from the cemetery. Mr & Mrs Crosby & Mrs. Schultz called this evening.
