Wednesday, Feb 9, 1887 Dined with the G. B. Club at Mr. Huber Bishops 881 5th Av. I went up alone and not knowing how far up it was I went too far, and had to return several blocks through a shantie region where I would have got pretty muddy only that the mud had frozen. It was a beautiful house and filled with rare and costly things. We had an elegant dinner elegantly served and altogether it was a very pleasant and successful affair. There were present Collins, Eastman, Robbins, Lord, Nash, Alexander, McDonough, Marbury, Harper, Judge Sedgwick, Dr. Otis, Dr Noyes, Anderson and Beman. Marbury was in his best vein and made much amusement in his vicinity. I got to my room somewhere near midnight.
