The Jervis McEntee Diaries - February 7, 1887

Diary Entry:

Monday, Feb 7, 1887 A miserable kind of day, wet and dark. The carpenter came and went at my work but can only be here today. I got him fairly started and then had to go to Dr. Taylors. Had a letter from Sara, all going on well at home. This evening Calvert and I went to a reception at Mr & Mrs. Morses where I met many friends, Mr & Mrs. Junius Henri Browne, Mr & Mrs. Falconer (he was a Clinton School mate) Miss Bridges, Miss. Courtis, Mrs & Miss Brace, W. T. Richards who had grown so venerable looking I did not know him, Hamilton Gibson and his wife[,] Mr & Mrs. Chas. Parsons, Mrs. Brownell and many others. They always insure ones meeting pleasant people there.
