The Jervis McEntee Diaries - January 28, 1885

Diary Entry:

Wednesday, Jan 28, 1885 Began to rain this morning which froze as it fell and finally turned to snow. Arthur Parton came up to see my picture and said he thought it very find and impressive. He gave me a hint which I carried out and which I think has helped it. Calvert came over to see it and thinks I keep improving it. Have not worked a great deal today but now that my picture seems to be thought good I feel more hopeful and cheerful. There is a wonderfully sustaining power in the accomplishment of good work. Julia Dillon came to invite me to dine with her tomorrow to meet Mr & Mrs. Akers. While she was here Lockwood Deforest came and invited me to dine with him this evening. Julia liked my picture and remembered it as it was originally.
