The Jervis McEntee Diaries - November 9, 1882

Diary Entry:

Thursday, Nov 9, 1882 An invitation from Whitelaw Reid to meet Hubert Herkomer the English Artist at dinner on Monday night. I accepted the telegraph. Painted all day in my studio on a little picture from the drawing I made yesterday from the Vlightbergh but it is not satisfactory. I shall do another tomorrow. Wrote to Mrs. Winter to have my rooms ready and to Wilmurt ordering a frame 20 x 24. A letter from Mary telling of Downings very slow progress. Cannot sit up more than an hour at a time.
