The Jervis McEntee Diaries - May 14, 1881

Diary Entry:

Saturday, May 14, 1881 Called on Miss Leggett but she was not in. Stopped at the Young Womans Christian Association to see if they could suggest something for Miss Ford. I thought the young woman who received me pert and disagreeable. The first question she asked "is she Protestant" did not encourage me. Came to my room and wrote a note to Miss Leggett. Went home by 4 oclock train, Marion going with me.
