The Jervis McEntee Diaries - January 12, 1881

Diary Entry:

Wednesday, Jan 12, 1881 Came down this morning by the noon train. Maurice drove me over the river. It was bright but very cold. The mercury was down to zero at our house last night. Mr. Grey sat beside me from Garrisons. We were in Europe together. It has not thawed in the streets today. I paid our taxes in Rondout yesterday. Calvert, Mary and I called on Mrs Putnam and I walked all the way down from 60th St.
