The Jervis McEntee Diaries - September 22, 1879

Diary Entry:

Gifford, William and I went down to the trout hole on the Millinoket, leaving here about 12 and arriving there at 3. William ran our camp equipage down the river in the birch while we walked from the dam. My first cast I caught a trout weighing 2 1/4 lbs. We only caught one or two more that evening. Encamped making a shelter of our rubber blankets and had a comfortable night.
