The Jervis McEntee Diaries - February 15, 1879
Diary Entry:
I slept very badly, thinking of all disturbing things. Got up at 4 o'clock and wrote and then went back to bed and got to sleep. This morning I wrote a letter and after many doubts and decisions I sent it. Most men would say it was unwise. I trusted my own judgement and feel the satisfaction now of having done all I could. I am miserable enough. Church & Mr. Deforest called and while they were here Booth came. Julia Vaux told me she was coming today with two young ladies Miss Gott and Miss White, so I got Booth to remain knowing the young people would be pleased to meet him. They came about 2 o'clock. Booth was very chatty with them and they enjoyed their call. I went home by Wallkill Valley.
