The Jervis McEntee Diaries - December 1, 1878

Diary Entry:

The weather continues mild and beautiful. Each day I think will be the last of the fine weather but each morning brings the calm sweet days that I enjoy so thoroughly. My father and I went to the Methodist church. Mr. Terry preached an excellent and earnest sermon on the character of God and took as his text the 139th Psalm to the 12th verse "O Lord thou hast searched me and known me." We went again this evening to hear Mr. Strowbridge but it was a talk to the children on missionary work, good in its way but not particularly interesting to me. Marian and I walked out to the cemetery after dinner. Little Charley has been here all afternoon his father and mother having gone out to Flatbush. He is a very interesting, pretty little fellow. Miss McAdam left this evening in the Baldwin. I have written to Mrs. Taylor today about the prescription in Mr. Sawyers letter.
