The Jervis McEntee Diaries - November 9, 1878

Diary Entry:

It has been cold and windy today but bright and clear. I have been in my room most of the day writing and arranging many things. I have not felt so sad as I did yesterday although I have looked over many of Gertrudes things. Sara and I went to the cemetery this afternoon. She took over some red berries of the sweet brier and some white ones of the wax plant. I had a letter from Fitch asking me for a picture for the Bryant memorial meeting at the Century on Tuesday evening and one from Calvert speaking about a friend of Giffords who wants my room and wants it immediately but I wrote him I was not ready to give it up now.
