The Jervis McEntee Diaries - February 13, 1878

Diary Entry:

I meant to go and see Dr. Joslin today but I felt so well I concluded not to. Lily McEntee called and also Mr. George Cooper. He assured me people had the greatest hesitancy about coming to Artists studios for fear of interrupting them. He seemed to think it quite surprising that I depended on selling my pictures to people who came to my room. The more I think of it the more I am convinced of the necessity of some business management for the sale of our pictures. The whole thing is changing. No one comes to the studios now. Received a letter from Gertrude and wrote to her.
