Attended a Centennial meeting last night at John Taylor Johnstons. Mr. Gorham the Director General was there and also Mr. Sartain to meet the State board, the Advisory Committee and the Committee on Selection. It was arranged that the State board in conjunction with the advisory Committee see to getting the works together for the Committee on Selection to decide upon. We are to have another meeting on Tuesday. Today I have been painting a Water Color. Miss Dr. Noxon called with a friend getting Art items for the World. Went up to Eastman Johnsons. The weather is very cold. Found them just going out so I called on the Platts where I spent the evening. Spoke with Platt about Clark Bell as Booth wished me to. Booth it seems put the theatre in his hands when he got in trouble. The building has been wiped out by mortgages etc. and he turned over the properties to Platt who realized several thousand dollars out of them but he has never rendered an account which Platt is pressing him for. He conducted the theatre for a while and Platt is of the same opinion as Booth that Bell has money he has never accounted for. He wants me to ask Booth if he will be in town any time between now and the first of May. I want to write all this to Booth.
